New Media / Web Developer

Currently, Argus Technologies is looking for a new media/ web developer that can take our eMarketing campaigns to the next level and develop our eBusiness/eCommerce efforts. Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of web development experience and a university degree in Computer Science to qualify for this opportunity. Additional requirements include: a good understanding of data structure and data modeling; experience with community servers; and knowledge of rich media technologies and their relevant applications.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, proven problem solving abilities and the desire to work in a fast-paced, multi-project start up environment.
The New Media/Web Developer position reports to and works directly in the Marketing Department but is not limited to Argus. There will be Alpha Group projects that require effort and collaboration as well. The Argus marketing group is responsible for designing and producing an extensive range of marketing materials, in a variety of media, for distribution to Argus’ worldwide sales team. These materials represent the primary means by which Argus is able to communicate the value of its world class powering products and services bring to a global customer base.
The position of New Media/Web Developer provides input, support and production for a variety of multi-media, web, print, and graphic materials. This position must also provide input for new media design to support all other marketing efforts and make appropriate recommendations to the marketing team.
Technical Requirements:
Proficiency and proven experience in all of the following programs is necessary.
* HTML /DHTML
* CSS2
* JavaScript
* Macromedia Flash animation and action scripting
* Adobe Creative Suite - Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Image Ready and/or Macromedia Dreamweaver
* Fireworks
* After Effects
* XML, CGI, ASP, XHTML and PHP
* SQL Server 2000 or 2005
* Web Development and eCommerce structure implementation
* Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications and Abilities:
* In order to qualify for this opportunity, applicant must have a degree in Computer Science and proven web development/eCommerce implementation experience
* Understanding of the fundamental elements of page layout, graphic design for the web and color usage
* An aptitude for learning new skills and a desire to keep up-to-date with new technologies
* Excellent presentation and communication skills
* Very detail oriented
* Ability to interpret designs provided and develop them into the appropriate medium
* Strong time management, organizational and file management skills are essential as this is a multiple project environment
* Ability to interact effectively and professionally with team members, vendors and other staff members
* Ability to function in an ever-changing work environment
* A proven ability to create solution designs in compliance with corporate architectural standards and the ability to produce high quality code are also required.
* We are seeking a team player with strong analytical and problem solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well on an independent basis.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
* Role specific responsibilities will include leading web, CMS and CRM development efforts as well as developing and maintaining existing and new web sites; and building specific components for exiting web sites on both content management platforms, as well as stand-alone sites.
* Provide support and production for Argus web, eCommerce and multimedia projects. This will include, but not limited to, flash animation and action scripting, banner advertisements, and building web pages (image optimization and slicing from graphics template).
* Create e-catalogues, sales kits, and other new media materials while working with Graphic Designer to incorporate corporate standards into design
* Work with Graphic Designer to improve and refine visual design communication and ensure consistency across all digital applications.
* Collaborate closely with technical leads on all projects.
* Identify and introduce emerging best practices within Interaction Design.
* Ability to report on campaign analysis and optimization
* Apply user-centered design practices across all websites
* Ability to execute online marketing and media strategy, including but not limited to, email campaign management, search engine marketing and online media and promotions
* Adaptability and flexibility to deal with last minute changes to ensure the highest standards are met
* Work with other departments on assigned projects on an as needed basis
* Work with the Marketing Communications Manager to overcome technical problems and design constraints
* Work with IT to understand application and eCommerce integration
* From time to time, this position will provide support in the means of production for other marketing materials (For example: Digital photography of products and application environments, proposal production, training materials, tradeshow graphics, sales presentations).
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
* Support Graphic Designer with artwork on an as needed basis. These forms of artwork include, but are not limited to, advertisements, greeting cards, posters, invitations, press releases, tradeshow collateral, etc.
* Obtain signatures from appropriate authorities and adhere to company processes before processing work orders, purchase orders, etc.
* Assist other marketing staff, graphics staff and provide training and/or mentoring on an as needed basis.
* On and ongoing basis, monitor quality and consistency of all marketing products, identify and bring attention to supervisor/manager.
* Participate as a marketing team member in meetings, collaboration on marketing projects as requested
* Preparing images for the web, print and other media
* Other duties as assigned
