OVERVIEW:
With strong ties to the Director of Sales and Marketing at each property in the Pacific Northwest, the Manager Internet Marketing will be responsible for all aspects of the hotels’ online presence. The Manager Internet Marketing will work closely with the on-property revenue management teams and the corporate internet marketing team to roll out and support on-property and corporate leads programs and explore new opportunities for hotels in the region.
The Manager will assist the Director of Sales and Marketing by actively engaging in all online and internet marketing activities to ensure increased revenue for the properties including The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, The Fairmont Waterfront, The Fairmont Empress, The Fairmont Vancouver Airport, The Fairmont Pacific Rim, The Fairmont Olympic Hotel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create, manage, and execute an E-Commerce strategy to include all online marketing efforts of the business and its properties including traffic and revenue generation programmes via SEO, SEM, affiliate relationships, email, and other online mechanisms. These programs will cover both acquiring new customers and encouraging repeat visits by existing customers.
Update and add content/packages on Fairmont.com including new landing pages designed to bring visitors to their respective destinations.
Implement optimization code - including title tags, Alt tags, Image tags and Meta descriptions - that have been provided by the hotels’ search agency.
Develop, actively test and analyze keywords, titles, descriptions and landing page URLs to maximize results, drive volume and hit targets.
Manage content and imagery on the OTA sites through the Market Manager contacts and the Content Team at GRC.
Manage presence on listing sites and acquire links from local/regional sites.
Manage the properties online advertising efforts including display advertising, ad networks, paid directory inclusions etc. Identify most compelling ad imagery & copy, category ad click-thru analysis, site ads, promotions, space allocation etc, in consultation with the corporate internet marketing team and/or the hotel search agencies.
Coordinate email campaigns executed through the campaign team at Fairmont Corporate office.
Oversee retention strategies using email, newsletters, social online media etc. to increase customer frequency.
Provide the Executive Team and other appropriate stakeholders with monthly reporting summaries using Google Analytics, vendor reports and property reporting systems.
Investigate new technology and enhancements that can increase revenue, brand awareness and improve overall customer experience by analyzing the results of ongoing efforts.
Continuously improve the online experience and take the initiative on specific new efforts (i.e. website in Chinese language).
Participate in monthly Internet marketing calls to discuss new initiatives and share best practices.
Contribute to online social media strategies (i.e. TripAdvisor, Travel Post, Flipkey, Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Hotelicopter etc).
Identify new electronic trends and opportunities for the region.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Extensive online and internet marketing experience of at least 3-5 years.
Familiar with Microsoft Content Management tool or other content management platforms.
Familiar with Google Analytics or other web analytics tools and metrics.
Past experience purchasing online display advertising and coordination online campaigns.
Basic HTML knowledge an asset.
Knowledge of SEO practices also an asset.
Strong communication, problem solving and presentational skills.
Fast learner, can learn new programs and tasks quickly and effectively.
Comfortable working with various Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Bilingual French/English with other languages an asset
