The Java Developer will design and implement new features and technologies for the Healthpricer.com site and to ensure the ongoing functionality, experience and usability of the site. They will also collaborate with team members, ensuring that projects are completed on time and to a high degree of quality and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement of development practices.

Responsibilities include:
* Writes high quality, well tested, and well-documented code.
* Develops and maintains healthpricer.com and subsidiary domains as part of an existing development team.
* Performs requirements analysis, software design, development, testing and deployment as part of a team and on an individual basis.
* Develops web services for HealthPricer data as well as intranet reports.
* Participates in project meetings including post project analysis and provides insightful input and ideas and effectively communicate project status and challenges.
* Responds to the needs and requests of business leads and QA Analyst in a timely manner.
* Provides web application support.
* Prepares accurate documentation throughout projects.
* Researches and experiments with new technologies and shares discoveries with the team.

Qualifications include:
* University degree or diploma in Computer Science or equivalent business knowledge.
* 2+ years experience full lifecycle OO design and development experience for enterprise-strength distributed and browser-based applications.
* 2+ years experience using Java related technologies (JSP, Servlets, JSF/Struts, JMS, Spring Framework) on an application server (Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss etc.).
* 2+ years experience with web-related technology and protocols (Java Script, HTML, XML, SOAP).
* 2+ years experience developing JAVA based database applications (Hibernate, SQL, Stored Procedures).
* Regular use of CVS while completing software projects.
* Advanced user of Apache/Tomcat in both Windows and Linux environments.
* Knowledge and experience with security in a web environment.
* Strong testing and deployment experience.
* Demonstrated design and architecture experience with UML diagrams.
* Able to write shell scripts in Linux environment.
* Experience using text search tools and data indices, such as Lucene.
* Experience using Linux administrator.
* Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
