InfoMine (infomine.com), the world’s premier mining information provider, is seeking a full-time assistant editor to provide enhanced coverage of the worldwide mining and mineral exploration sectors.

Based in our Vancouver offices, you will assist the editors of MINING.com magazine (http://magazine.mining.com/) and the MINING.com news site (http://news.mining.com/). For the magazine you will research, prepare and write articles; help with the magazine’s design; obtain rights to use materials from other publications; and ensure the quality of the content. For the news site you will publish email news digests, solicit submissions, oversee several blogs and develop marketing strategies.

The successful candidate is likely to have the following:

* A bachelor’s degree in journalism, English or in a related field.
* At least two-years’ experience working in either an editorial or marketing position.

The following skills and abilities would be advantageous:
* Medium to advanced knowledge of InDesign, Wordpress, internet marketing, SEO and social media.
* Ability to concentrate amid competing priorities and to work under pressure while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
* Ability to rewrite technical papers so they can be read by a general audience.
* Proficiency with figures, time management and negotiating abilities.
* The ability to both organize and motivate staff and work as a member of a publishing team.
