About You
You are a positive person who enjoys working with people and loves to take initiative. You are comfortable and very interested in working with the internet, and are excited by the idea of learning more about websites, online advertising, technology and visual design. You are a motivated worker, who requires little supervision to get things done. If you’re often late or not so organized this probably isn’t the role for you. We like this place to run ship shape! That being said we’ve also been known to kick our heels up and have fun once in a while if all our ducks are in a row.
The Opportunity
Part time Contract Administrative/Marketing Assistant: initially 5 to 10 hours per week between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm (negotiable) with the opportunity or occasional request for additional hours.
You will work remotely from your own home office on your own Mac or PC and must have access to a telephone to make outgoing and receive inbound calls.
Typical duties would include but are not limited to:
- General administration, e.g. correspondence, typing, basic accounting & billing, scheduling appointments, internet research, screening phone calls and qualifying clients.
- Providing general information to prospects and clients.
- Communicating with clients and contractors.
- Occasionally acting as a junior account representative.
- Project support on an as needed basis.
Your Skills & Experience
It’s important to note that we are looking for the right person first and skills second. While it’s essential that you fill a productive role immediately, please feel free to be candid about skills that may need development.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Email, and Internet Research.
- Ability to use QuickBooks for basic accounting and billing.
- Excellent communication skills and open communication style.
- Strong interpersonal skills and phone skills, and strong attention to detail.
- Respond quickly to time sensitive matters.
- Ability and desire to learn quickly about the online marketing tools we use every day (e.g. Search Engine Optimization, Google Adwords, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc).
- Ability to type a minimum of 40wpm.
- Prior clerical experience and experience in online marketing (e.g. SEO, Pay-Per-Click advertising, Facebook, Social Media) an enormous asset, but not required.
- Experience using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or Web Experience with CSS/XHTML a bonus, but not required.
