Web Developer Qualifications:
You should be a team player, able to work with programmers, designers and managers in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment. You should possess strong conceptual skills, a meticulous eye for detail and be able to take responsibility for a project from inception to completion. Actively research and keep current with all (as many as possible) related technologies. Proactively resolve problems and unfamiliar situations with supervisor, and/or peers. Be open to feedback about your work from team members and have the ability to work on multiple projects at once.
You will need to translate client needs, content, and branding into structured website concepts. Assemble and execute work in accordance with design concepts to the highest standard possible
Possess training (formal or exemplary) in typography, interactive design, information design and other creative disciplines. You are familiar with user-interface and information architecture principles and how to design web sites with complex information or functionality. You should be able to design sites that work across multiple browsers, on both Mac and PC platforms.
* Comfortable using industry standard tools such as the Adobe CS3 Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks etc.)
* Knowledge of HTML, DHTML, XML, and CSS as well as Flash ActionScripting. (hand-coding is a must). Experience with programming MySQL, ASP, PHP and JavaScript is a plus.
* Excellent typography, layout, colour theory, and branding skills.
* Solid knowledge of online design, including SEO, browser compatibility, file optimization, best usability practices, site architecture, accessibility and functionality.
* Ability to articulate the limitations and possibilities of the discipline/technology to team members.
* The ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail.
* Interactive Copywriting ability is a plus
* Experience with Microsoft CMS or similar content management system a plus.
* An understanding or interest in “Web 2.0” technologies, concepts, and designs.
