Vancouver in the snow December 24, 2008

I could not help myself but taking a few pictures today. Apparently, lots of people were doing the same thing today. We were exchanging tips on the best shots. I am not a good photographer but here are my favorites, as souvenirs of this special day:

1. I hope you can appreciate your snowy winter season. When I was a child, it always snowed in my home town and this year the snow lasted 3 days in total. I hope that it will start snowing soon because winter isn’t winter without a landscape as the one from your pictures. Great photos by the way and happy New Year!

   Nice shots. I grew up with “white christmases” and snowball fights. But now I live in California and we don’t get the snow :( so I only get to see it in pictures like yours. I miss the snow, but not the cold.

6. I really wont mind a snow christmas, I havent seem snow for a long long time, snow boost the christmas feeling, hope you can enjoy the snow.

7. Alexandre, you were very lucky.... what I wouldn’t give for a nice white Christmas just like that. Unfortunately we only got the cold, not the snow that should have come with it :-(

9. Actually, I’ve lived in Vancouver for 14 years, and recently moved to Port Moody! As for the building, I was able to determine where it is by the shadow of the building in the image . It is really great capture(s)! Where did you get this shot from?

10. The recent news I heard was bit contrasting, it tells that unusually Vancouver has relatively mild winters with little snow. The cold air from the Arctic that sweeps over the rest of Canada in winter is unable to reach Vancouver. The Rocky Mountains block it. But I just love the place

11. I am sure that the entire 578,041 [appx] population people will suffer heavily in winters. But still, never forget that Vancouver is consistently ranked one of the three most livable cities in the world. Amazing photography, Just love it!!!

12. Weather is a big topic in Vancouver and if people associate one thing with the city, it is usually rain. It does rain in Vancouver, but you’ll see from the information below that it doesn’t really rain all that much in Vancouver.

14. I most appreciate the snowy winter season. but I am residing in a desert areas in India. When I was gone in Jamu & Kasmir there I saw snow fall. That scene was very amazing.

15. Weather is a big topic in Vancouver and if people associate one thing with the city, it is usually rain. It does rain in Vancouver. And Vancouver makes up for the rain by greeting summer visitors with more than 16 hours of glorious daylight every day. Nice place!

16. These pictures look all too familiar. My parents are up in Maryland and got 14” in 2 days. They were just showing us the pictures they took.

17. We just got some snow here for the first time this year. I love snow but it looks like you have far more than I would enjoy having. Nice pics.
