Congratulations Alex. Your painting is awesome. I look forward to seeing it in real life.
Posted by Monique on 04/03 at 01:09 PMFelicitations Alex pour ta nouvelle acquisition.
Cheers! Sonia

Painting STOLEN/ LOST20$ Reward
Dear all,
They said: “Live to learn” Well, Today I have learned.
I have learned that my nonchalance and wandering mind is not always working in my favor. Or maybe it is? I am not sure, but I am sure that today, I have lost one of my painting. Not even completed. It is now gone. Maybe it will make it’s way back to me, maybe not? Whatever happens, for now, it is lost. Here is the story:
I have been on vacation for 2 weeks and was really looking forward for this time to catch up on some paintings. Which I did. I varnish 2 big pieces, pack some for shipping, started 4 small one and a medium size one. (18X24") The mid-size one was to be called: “My back alley” Well, little that I know my back alley would be gone before I had the time to complete it! So here is the story. On Monday, I wanted to start working on my series of willow trees but didn’t have any canvas of the size yet and decided to start a mid-size painting while waiting for the canvas to be ready. I open the garage door to realized my neighbor tree was in bloom. So I decide to paint it. I had some nice perspective of the alley with the wood door and behind, the magnificent tree ( don’t know the type yet...) with bright purple flowers. I work all week, few hours a day on the painting before I could paint the flowers. I was having a hard time with it and wasn’t sure if I was going the right direction or not… Then finally on Thursday afternoon, I started to paint the pink flowers. The painting magically came together, now I was feeling good about it and was happy about the result. I did the far flowers first, did a coat of varnish and set it outside the garage to dry. I then carried on working on some other painting. Then I realized I had left my cell phone in the house and I was expecting a phone call. So I closed the garage door and went back inside the house. While in the house, I realized I was a bit hungry and fixed myself a small lunch. Maybe 1/2 hour-45 minute went by until I was back in the garage to do the top flower and last coat of varnish on the painting. Upon my entrance in the garage, I realized the easel was empty. My heart stop, I had left the painting outside the garage, in the back alley to dry.... In a panic I open the garage door and of course, the painting was gone.... What a idiot I was… I forgot about the painting drying outside the garage when I close the garage door… Of course, the first person who walk in the alley and saw the painting there probably was thinking I was trowing it away.... and took it. I am sure they had a good intention while doing this.... But now my painting is gone and my hearth is broken… I wonder if they stain themselves by carrying a wet painting… I am sure they got back home really exited with the artwork and hope they set it up on there wall… I don’t blame them at all…So anyways, I put up a sign on my back garage and hopefully the painting will make it back to me. I don’t even have a picture of the piece to show… I will tried to draw something later on today to give you an idea of what it look like. At least, it was signed… Please, if you have that painting, bring it back to me, you can leave it on the front porch if you feel embarrass or just sent me an email… I am sure you live in my area and didn’t mean to stole it.
an heartbroken artist.
